Qualification Checklist

Qualification Purpose

The purpose of the RBF qualification process is to support the development of facilitators who use RBF skills competently to design and facilitate meetings that move from talk to action to produce results.

 Qualification Results

By the end of the qualification process candidates will have demonstrated:

  • their understanding of the theory of RBF
  • their ability to apply the theory of RBF through the application of the RBF Foundation skills and Advanced skills in the design and facilitation of results based meetings: and,
  • that they are committed to continued skill development.

Qualification Process

  1. Learn about the RBF skills (through a workshop, self-study, and/or mentoring);
  2. Use RBF Individual Development Plan (IDP) to assess current skill level and identify practice path to enhanced skills;
  3. Score 90% or higher on a closed book, written test on RBF Theory at the end of the 201 workshop, or through arrangement through the RBF Network;
  4. Submit documentation of four results based meetings designed and facilitated by the applicant. Documentation consists of an annotated design demonstrating the use of the 3R’s (relationships plus resources produce results), a public agenda, a composition analysis, and feedback on progress towards the meeting results from both the participants and the applicant. Two qualified RBF coaches will assess this submission. They must affirm that the candidate is applying the RBF framework and skills at the “approaching” level or higher.
  5. Schedule an observation of the candidate facilitating a results based meeting (real or simulated) that the applicant has designed. Based on the observation, the RBF coach assesses the applicant’s use of RBF skills. The candidate receives feedback from the observation for their continued skill development. Qualification requires the candidate’s skill assessment be at “approaching” or higher.
  6. Final IDP showing the candidate at the “approaching” level or higher for all Foundation and Advanced skills and identification of next steps to move to “sustaining,” where appropriate.

Upon successful completion of the test, assessment of the documentation of results based meetings, and the observation of facilitation a results based meeting segment the candidate is qualified as an RBF by the RBF Network. The candidate is encouraged to use the feedback from the qualification process to continue their skill development.

Customized Path to Qualification

The RBF Network also offers a path to qualification that can be completely customized and not include any workshops, or include a combination of workshops and other methods for the candidate to demonstrate there understanding of the RBF theory and their competency in the use of RBF skills.

The candidate can request a consultative phone call with an RBF coach to explore and define their customized path at rbfnetwork.com. The fees for the consultative phone call and other supports needed to design and implement a customized path to qualification will be shared with the candidate during the consultative call.
