Qualification Purpose

The purpose of the RBF qualification process is to support the development of facilitators who use RBF skills competently to design and facilitate meetings that move from talk to action to produce results. There are three levels of qualification:

• RBF Practitioner
• RBF Advanced Practitioner
• RBF Coach

 Qualification Results

By the end of the qualification process the RBF Practitioner and Advanced Practitioner candidates will have demonstrated:

• their understanding of the theory of RBF
• their ability to apply the theory of RBF through the application of the RBF Foundation skills and Advanced skills in the design and facilitation of results based meetings: and,
• that they are committed to continued skill development.

By the end of the qualification process RBF Coach candidates will have demonstrated:

• their understanding of the theory of RBF coaching
• their ability to apply the theory of RBF coaching to support the development of RBF Practitioners and Advanced Practitioners
• that they are committed to continuing their own skill development and contributing to the development of RBF tools and methods.

Steps in Skill Development

Complete all RBF Workshops (or the equivalent customized path with a qualified RBF coach)

• RBF 101
• RBF 201
• RBF 301

Pass RBF Qualification Exam

Complete and follow and updated IDP

Complete all three RBF Workshops

Pass RBF Qualification Exam, if exam has not been taken at earlier time.

Co-­Facilitate 3-­6 meetings with an assigned RBF Coach; this process is RBF 401

Show capacity in key additional areas at these designated levels:

1. MBTI: Proficiency in applying MBTI to groups, evidenced either by holding MBTI certification plus positive Coach assessment of proficiency or passing MBTI Applied to Groups Assessment (TBD) plus positive Coach assessment of proficiency
2. Results Based Accountability: Proficiency using RBA in groups to achieve program and/or population results, evidenced by passing RBA Checklist Assessment by coach and passing self-assessment
3. RBF Coaching Competency at application level moving to mastery, as evidenced by passing current RBF Coaching Competency Assessment and self-assessment
4. Complete and follow an updated IDP

Achieve Advanced RBF Practitioner status, through process outlined at left.

Show mastery level in RBF coaching as evidenced by RBF coaching competency Assessment and self-assessment.

Demonstrate mastery level in RBF coaching capacity by recording feedback and coaching sessions with RBF 401 candidate working with Qualified RBF Coach as second reviewer.

Proficiency in use of data generated by the RBF Competency Assessment, the High Action/High Alignment Analyzer, RBF performance measure tracking, and workshop evaluations (if available).

Complete and follow an updated IDP

Required Documentation

Submit documentation of three meetings you facilitated using RBF practices and include:

1. Practitioner Checklist/Summary Sheet
2. For each meeting:
   • Practitioner Cover sheet
   • Public and Annotated Meeting agendas, using the 3R model
   • Composition Analysis
   • Meeting Notes with picture of one or more flip chart pages
3. Current RBF Assessment and IDP

Submit documentation of four meetings you facilitated applying Advanced RBF Skills with either cross-sector, cross-discipline, cross-functional or cross-agency leaders to achieve population-level results within systems and communities and include:

1. Advanced Practitioners Checklist/Summary Sheet
2. For each meeting:
• Cover sheet
• Public and Annotated Meeting agendas, using the 3R model
• Composition Analysis
• Meeting Notes with picture of one or more flip chart pages
3. Current RBF Assessment and IDP

Submit the following documentation:

1. Coach Checklist/Summary Sheet
2. Documentation of coaching provided to move an RBF Practitioner to the Advanced practitioner level
3. Sample documents showing analysis and use of data to improve practice (data from any of the sources listed above)
4. Documentation as lead facilitator RBF workshops and coaching interactions with co-facilitator
5. One written contribution to practice development, such as an APP or briefing note, authored or co-authored by you
6. Current RBF Assessment and IDP
7. Current Coaching Assessment and IDP
8. An copy of their review as a Second reviewer

Review Process

Complete RBF Quiz during RBF 201 or 301

Submit required documentation to assigned First Reviewer (The RBF Coach working with the candidate).

If qualifications are met, materials will be sent to Second Reviewer

If qualified by the two Reviewers as an RBF Practitioner, the RBF Managing Director will file your documentation and post your bio and photo on RBF Website.

Be assigned qualified RBF Coach

Document in IDP how applying skills in a variety of roles on a daily basis

Spend 3-­6 months (or longer) being co-­facilitator of workshops or skill building 3R meetings with assigned coach and advanced skill meetings.

Submit documentation listed above at four separate times throughout the 3-­6 month period, receiving coaching along the way (rather than waiting to the end)

If qualifications have been met, near the end of 3-­6 months, materials will be sent to Second Reviewer

If qualified by the two Reviewers as an Advanced RBF practitioner, the RBF Managing Director will file your documentation and post your bio and photo on RBF Website.

Be assigned a qualified RBF Coach

Work with one or more Practitioners to help them move to Advanced Practitioner stage with assigned RBF Coach acting as second reviewer; follow review steps listed to the left

Discuss with your coach, as needed, your documentation of use of data

Discuss your written contribution to practice development with your Coach

Current IDP that includes coaching components

Inform RBF Managing Director of willingness to be Second Reviewer

Timing

Review and feedback will take approximately one month from the submission of all documentation.

When required documentation is submitted, review and feedback will be completed and returned within one month.

Upon completion of work with assigned RBF Coach, review sheet will be completed and returned within one month.

The RBF Community

Upon being qualified, practitioner’s bio and photo will be added to the list of Qualified RBF Practitioners on the RBF Network website, (unless candidate indicates preference not to be listed)

Upon being qualified, practitioner’s bio and photo will be added to the list of Qualified Advanced RBF Practitioners on the RBF Network website, (unless candidate indicates preference not to be listed)

Upon being qualified, practitioner’s bio and photo will be added to the list of RBF Coaches on the RBF Network website, (unless candidate indicates preference not to be listed) .

Memorandum of Agreement

As a last step in the qualification process, the Practitioner signs an MOA agreeing to deliver Introduction to RBF Workshops with fidelity to the content, agenda and training model.

As a last step in the qualification process, the Advanced Practitioner signs an MOA agreeing to deliver RBF 101, 201 and 301 Workshops with fidelity to the content, agenda and training model.

As a last step in the qualification process, RBF Coach signs an MOA agreeing to implement the RBF 401 process with fidelity to the content of the coaching competency and coaching model.

Leading RBF Workshops

Upon being qualified, the Practitioner is authorized to lead Introduction to RBF workshops.

Upon being qualified, the Advanced Practitioner is authorized to lead the Introduction to RBF, RBF 101, 201 and 301 Workshops.

Upon being qualified, the RBF Coach is authorized to lead all RBF Workshops and to implement the RBF 401 coaching process.
